Sethi Family Museum Opens it’s Doors for the Rehabilitation, Conservation, and Showcasing of History of Sethi Family
Soft opening
The soft opening of the first Public and Private Museum in KPK, was performed on May 27, 2024.
Suhail Sethi (owner) as a token of goodwill and generosity, bequeathed the haveli to showcase its rich history and heritage to the city of Peshawar and its people.
The museum was jointly inaugurated by Dr. Abdul Samad, Director DOAM, and Mr. Suhail Sethi.
In his welcome speech, Mr. Suhail Sethi praised Dr. Abdul Samad for his visionary leadership and recognised Dr. Ali Jan, Dr. Adil Zarif, and Mr. Zahoor Durrani, as staunch supporters of this initiative. He expressed gratitude to the members of civil society, journalists, social media activists, who attended in large numbers.
In his address, Dr. Abdul Samad highlighted that this project marks the first time a private entity has entrusted a priceless monument to DOAM, demonstrating confidence in its capabilities. He encouraged others to follow suit instead of demolishing historical monuments and expressed hope that the museum would be fully equipped for a formal launch within six months.
